Overall, it's a top-50 class. What (Michigan State coach John L. Smith) needed to do is get some Band-Aids for his team and fill some needs right away. With eight guys coming in signed, I think he did that.

I haven't seen any junior in the Midwest better than Clay. There's not one school in the country that wouldn't offer Clay a scholarship based on talent alone.

It's not a bad class. It's not Michigan, but it isn't bad.
