If people call and report an illegal dog, we will investigate that, and impound the animal when we find it.

They do have a propensity for inflicting very serious bites if they do bite.

It's difficult on staff and it's difficult on the public to realize there are some healthy adoptable animals that are being sacrificed to meet the requirements this ordinance sets forth.

We know that the people who took time to obtain the licenses are owners who take their dogs to obedience training and keep them in control.

This entire ordinance is completely based on physical appearance.

We had 10 to 15 in the lobby at any one time, but the dogs were very well behaved and their owners had them in control.

They've got until 6:30pm (Tuesday), Wednesday morning we start enforcement of the ban.

They will need to permanently remove their dogs from the city limits.
