I've just seen how she's playing now. And it looks really good. I would say she's strong as ever.

I think we have a fantastic team. We might have the best team ever. We know we have to win over here sooner or later and we have a great opportunity. We have nothing to lose.

They really have nothing to lose. No one is going to expect them to win, other than themselves maybe.

I think the first match is the most nerve-wracking, and Catriona and Carin are both very cool and calm. I suspected that Nancy [Lopez, the US captain] would put out one of her young ones early and I wanted a pair with lots of experience. They won't get wound up.

If you got behind, it was virtually impossible to catch them. I think the Americans played unbelievable golf.

She's more of a team member now than she maybe has been. In the past, she would take her own car, and not go on the bus. I don't think she would do that now. I think she realized the one advantage we might have over the Americans is the fact we are very much a team, and we have lots of fun.

Its been a very, very hard decision. There are quite a few players in the States who have played very well. In the end we chose the 2004 British Open Champion.

I think when you're ahead, like the Americans were, it's a good feeling, chasing in a way, and knowing you have those hard finishing holes.

They have a lot more pressure on them because they've never lost on home soil.
