They underestimated us to start the game, which, in all honesty, is rightly so when you're playing us and you're Ohio State. But then they're able to turn it on. I think we stepped back on our heels a little bit and weren't ready for that kind of onslaught.
We broke down and they made some shots. Iowa played a great game, no question.
Obviously Ohio State is one of the best teams in the land. We made them think about what they had to do - at least for about 25-30 minutes.
A lot of her points were later in the game, so I have to take some consolation in that.
To play them to an eight-point game at Mackey Arena is great for our program and the direction we want to go. To be able to come in and finish the way we did and to be able to get the last shot of the game is huge for us as a program.
That's what makes them (Ohio State) so potent. They've got 10 players who can play, and Wilburn turned it on tonight.
I'm thrilled with the way we played today. We have talked about finding another level of play. We needed to take our game to that level and we did that today.
That's why they are Purdue and we're not. They were able to sustain that run and make a great run when it counted.
We got a good, old-fashioned butt-kicking. We didn't shoot well, didn't defend well. We took a step back today that I'm not really happy with.
