I thought we were going to be a little bit better that first year. I think that first year of varsity was a wake-up call for me and for the girls. I had to start two freshman and three sophomores. The whole thing I've always said is you've got to believe in what we're doing and stick to the program.

The girls know that they've been overlooked. But they play big when they need to play big. I don't care how people look at us, as long as when we're finished, we know that we did the best we could, and that we're a good basketball team.

Basketball is a game of spurts, you have to stay within reach. They played hard. They didn't play bad. We've stepped on the court before and I felt like we didn't play hard, but we've played hard. They deserved to be here.

Every win is a big win.

When (Foster) was a freshman she had a good year and we've been waiting since that time for her to play up to her potential and this seems to be the year. She's taken on a leadership role with our team. It wasn't quite expected, but she's stepped into the role.

He lightens the atmosphere. He brings a personality the girls really enjoy. He brings out the best in everybody. His experience has been a benefit to me. We wouldn't be where we're at without him.

He said to just sit back and enjoy it. Make sure the kids are having a good time because its something they don't always get to experience.
