I think it will be an exciting time with our young players looking to make a name for themselves.
Justin has taken to his role as our closer. Tonight we brought him in earlier than we normally would have, and he stepped up and responded in a positive manner.
That was when our seniors last year were sophomores in 2003. We went through some growing pains, but made the playoffs. I believe we have the kind of potential again coming out today that it takes to be successful.
They were hitting the ball really hard. They were going down and getting the pitches. Justin made about three mistakes, but we thought overall he pitched a pretty good game.
We need to get back out there and put another complete game together. That would probably be the best thing for us.
We got a lot of good innings and experience in today. Every time they take the field, they are going to learn a new lesson. The good thing about this group of guys is that they take those experiences and really learn from them.
Curtis is a very good pitcher. I think he just got tired and we took advantage of it.
Jake has been working hard and that's just a lot of hard work that paid off for him. Jake is very mature for his age, but he has a lot of fun out there.
I'm very pleased with our kids thus far. We're a young group with, from what I've seen, a lot of potential.
