"Michael Francis Troy" is an American former competition swimming (sport)/swimmer, a two-time Olympic champion, and former world record-holder in three events.

The peak of Troy's swimming career occurred between 1959 and 1960 while he was coached by James Counsilman/Doc Counsilman of the Indiana Hoosiers swimming and diving team at Indiana University. At the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome, Italy, he won his first gold medal as a member of the winning U.S. team in the Swimming at the 1960 Summer Olympics - Men's 4 x 200 metre freestyle relay/men's 4x200-meter freestyle relay. Individually, he won a second gold with his first-place finish in the Swimming at the 1960 Summer Olympics - Men's 200 metre butterfly/men's 200-meter butterfly—his signature event.

Troy broke the world record in the 200-meter butterfly six consecutive times before it was taken over by fellow American swimmer Carl Robie in 1961.

After college, Troy became a U.S. naval officer and completed United States Navy SEAL selection and training/Basic Underwater Demolition/SEALs (BUD/S) training. He was later nominated for the Silver Star award for his combat service during the Vietnam War.

The team?s excited. They know that they won games in states last year and are looking forward to the opportunity to repeat that.

Call it fate. Hopefully, it works out the same as last year, but every year you go to states it?s different.

Ryan Pauley was key for us. He made big shots when it counted. Playing without two players just increased the pressure to step up. I just enjoy watching Ryan play every time he steps on the court. He finds a way to win games for us.
