"Mark Buchanan" is a American physicist and author. He was formerly an editor with the international journal of science Nature (journal)/Nature, and the popular science magazine New Scientist. He has been a guest columnist for the New York Times, and currently writes a monthly column for the journal Nature Physics.

Buchanan's books and articles typically explore ideas of modern physics, especially in Quantum mechanics/quantum theory or condensed matter physics, with an emphasis on efforts to use novel concepts from physics to understand patterns and dynamics elsewhere, especially in biology or in the human social sciences. Key themes include, but are not limited to the (often overlooked) importance of spontaneous order or self-organization in collective, complex systems. All of his work aims to bring technical advances in modern science to a broad, non-technical audience, and to help stimulate the flow of ideas across disciplinary boundaries.

He has been awarded, in June 2009, the Lagrange Prize in Turin, regarding science writing in the field of complexity.

We played with them for about a quarter and a half, but they were physically bigger and stronger than us. They wore us down and we didn't help things by dropping about 10 passes.

I think we're making really good strides. This is gonna be a test, the test, to see if we can play at the level I think we're capable of playing. Our goal going into the season was to try to regain the league championship. If we want to do that, this is a must-win.

I've been telling people that we've improved.

He's fast, there's no doubt about that. We'll use him.

Those are four really key guys who need to set the tone. They really have to do the job in order for us to reach a high level.

I didn't think we'd shut them out, but I thought we could contain them if we played physical inside -- and we did. Coach (Toby) Tabor had the defense ready to go. We have a lot of good athletes out there, and we've got good athletes on the sidelines, too. Our depth is one of our strong points.

We're athletic and we have good speed. When you are playing a power team like Ony, you have to have more.

If we call them and they're unable to communicate, we'll make a stack of those people and have someone contact them who can speak Spanish. We want to make sure everyone's registered and aware of what's going on.

Trevor played JV the first couple of weeks because he didn't understand the offense very well.
