"Jennifer Palmieri" currently serves as Assistant to the President and White House Communications Director/Director of Communications. Previously, Palmieri was the President of the Center for American Progress Action Fund. Prior to her time at CAP, Palmieri was the National Press Secretary for the John Edwards presidential campaign, 2004/2004 Edwards for President campaign and the National Press Secretary for the Democratic National Committee in 2002. Palmieri also served as a White House Deputy White House Press Secretary/Press Secretary, Special Assistant to White House Chief of Staff Leon Panetta and Deputy Director of Scheduling and Advance in the Bill Clinton/Clinton White House. After graduating from American University, Palmieri began her career working for former Congressman Leon Panetta (D-CA).

On February 4, 2015, The Wall Street Journal reported that Palmieri would leave the White House within a few weeks. Palmieri is expected to be announced as the Communications Director for the Hillary Clinton presidential campaign, 2016/presumptive Hillary Clinton 2016 presidential campaign.
