Prior to her time at CAP, Palmieri was the National Press Secretary for the John Edwards presidential campaign, 2004/2004 Edwards for President campaign and the National Press Secretary for the Democratic National Committee in 2002. Palmieri also served as a White House Deputy White House Press Secretary/Press Secretary, Special Assistant to White House Chief of Staff Leon Panetta and Deputy Director of Scheduling and Advance in the Bill Clinton/Clinton White House. After graduating from American University, Palmieri began her career working for former Congressman Leon Panetta (D-CA).
On February 4, 2015, The Wall Street Journal reported that Palmieri would leave the White House within a few weeks. Palmieri is expected to be announced as the Communications Director for the Hillary Clinton presidential campaign, 2016/presumptive Hillary Clinton 2016 presidential campaign.
