"Darrell Hazell" is an American college football coach. He is the head football coach at Purdue Boilermakers football/Purdue. He was previously the head coach at Kent State Golden Flashes football/Kent State from 2011 to 2012.

A native of Cinnaminson Township, New Jersey, Hazell graduated in 1982 from Cinnaminson High School where he played football and ran track and then attended Muskingum University starting in the fall of 1982. He played on the football team as a starter for his final three years at the school. Hazell graduated in 1986.

He held assistant coaching positions at Oberlin Yeomen football/Oberlin, Eastern Illinois Panthers football/Eastern Illinois, Penn Quakers football/Penn, Western Michigan Broncos football/Western Michigan, Army Black Knights football/Army, West Virginia Mountaineers football/West Virginia, and Rutgers Scarlet Knights football/Rutgers. Hazell then served as the wide receivers coach at Ohio State Buckeyes football/Ohio State under Jim Tressel from 2004 to 2010. In December 2010, Kent State Golden Flashes football/Kent State hired him as its head coach. On November 28, 2012, Hazell was named 2012 Mid-American Conference Coach of the Year by the conference's coaches.

On December 5, 2012, Purdue Boilermakers football/Purdue named Hazell their new head coach, replacing Danny Hope.
