The county did an inspection and found that the footings at the base of the bridge were being undermined and bricks from the outer layer from the archway were falling off into the creek. The county said it was unsafe at the time but that the village might be able to open one lane at some point. Right now, the county is having an engineer look at that.

They determined that as long as we opened a single lane of traffic, no commercial vehicles were permitted and 3-ton-limit signs were posted, we could reopen the bridge and that we shouldn't experience any problems.
