"Wayne Ashley Mason", MNZM, is a New Zealand musician born in New Plymouth in 1949. He was a founding member of 1960s pop group The Fourmyula and later formed Rockinghorse (band)/Rockinghorse and The Warratahs before embarking on a solo career in 1994.

Mason wrote a series of hit singles with Ali Richardson for The Fourmyula; his best known song is "Nature", which in 2001 was voted No.1 in a list of the Top 100 New Zealand Songs of All Time. The song, which Mason re-recorded on his 2001 album Same Boy, has also been covered by The Mutton Birds and Margaret Urlich.

Mason was made a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit (MNZM) for his contribution to the music industry in New Zealand in the 2002 Birthday Honours/2002 Queen's Birthday Honours.

Mason still tours on a regular basis throughout New Zealand with bands like Too Many Chiefs, the X-Ray Catz and The Gospel Blues Show as well as performing solo or as a duo with Clinton Brown accompanying. He has played a strong part in encouraging new talent with both his sons playing in up and coming Kiwi bands. Mason also played a large part in the success of fellow Kapiti Coast residents Monkey Puzzle (rock band)/Monkey Puzzle who he allowed to use his basement as a practice space as well as giving them invaluable advice during this time.

We don't want to be on the way to someplace. We want to be the place that people are headed for.

For every contribution I do, I must get five requests. I have been supporting politicians for 30-40 years. They call, I give.

I guess we're going to do what we've been doing. We're going to keep paying the price.

I don't expect anything in return. I have been giving for years. I was giving to Shirley before she became mayor.

It is a shame there was such a setback there.

We're not trying to build a high-rise. But something to fit into the neighborhood.

I haven't figured this one out.
