"Troy Brandon Murphy" is an American professional basketball player who last played for the Dallas Mavericks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Murphy was born in Morristown, New Jersey/Morristown, New Jersey but grew up in Sparta Township, New Jersey/Sparta Township located in northwest New Jersey. He attended the Delbarton School for four years before moving on to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish men's basketball/University of Notre Dame, where he was a two-time consensus All-American before declaring himself for the 2001 NBA Draft. He is now a student at Columbia University.

He's made my life easier. He's so strong for a point guard that he forces other teams to double him and the kick out is to me for a three. He gets me a lot of easy baskets.
