We knew it was important for us to win in the doubles matches. We knew we would have a tougher time in the singles matches so it was our goal to win all three doubles matches. That gave us confidence in the singles matches.
So far we've only lost to one Division II opponent (Lake Superior State). We still have some tough matches coming up against teams ranked ahead of us in the region.
Washburn is a really good team, especially in doubles. They have two nationally ranked doubles teams.
We knew we needed to be aggressive and get those doubles points. Getting all those points helped us. (It) Gave us confidence going into the singles.
We knew they would be tough in the singles matches so we knew we needed to win at least two doubles matches to have a chance. We won three and after that we really took their confidence down and we were able to pick up two more wins in singles play.
No one had a tough time, it was a good confidence builder.
