I talked about the need to be more aggressive on defense. We just didn't match (North Cobb's) intensity in the first half.

Everybody has picked either Wheeler or Norcross to pretty much win it this year, so it gives us an opportunity to find out if we're that third wheel.

I thought in the first half, we came out a little slow and North Cobb came out with a lot of intensity. The second half, we came out attacking more on defense and we made some good shots. We also shot our free throws well.

In the first half, I thought they came out hard and we came out tentative. (Centennial) was more aggressive and they took the initiative in the first quarter. We started attacking more in the second quarter and we just stepped it up a notch in the third and fourth quarters.

The main thing we have to remember is, with all the talk that goes into it, we still have to play the game.

Wesley is putting the ball on the floor and attacking the basket more. He's always scored from the perimeter, but now he can take it inside as well and that makes him tougher to defend.

I figured this could be a game coming off the emotional high (of Saturday's win) that we could've dropped. The only thing I questioned was our effort. When you don't give the effort, it's easy to get caught up.

Austin had a great week of practice, and I thought his athleticism and jumping ability would help us on the boards.

We made some threes and got some easy baskets (against Pope). We had a few lapses, but for the most part, I was pleased with how our kids played.
