For this year anyway, without question, the competition was there and the boys were up to the task today. They came back and shot a good number.

Kyle has a lot of tournament experience, but it has always been as an individual playing various tours. It's a little different going to a different school with teammates and on relatively different courses. He doesn't have many holes in his game.

Tyler is starting to play like the Tyler of old. The other boys didn't play other sports this summer and he did. He divided his time and didn't play many tournaments.

Dusty is a little longer off the tee. He's a little bigger than last year. Drew came out and fired lights out at The Den, but after that he wasn't Drew. He wasn't sharp. I think he was a little tired. He had every reason to be. He played a whole lot of golf at the end of the summer.

He made the turn at par as our first man out. Dusty was playing well, Drew was 2-under at the turn. We were feeling pretty good, but you never want to get too excited. There was a lot of golf to play.
