FameRank: 6

"Timothy Matthew "Tim" Howard" is an American association football/soccer player who plays as a Goalkeeper (association football)/goalkeeper for English club Everton F.C./Everton and the United States men's national soccer team/United States national team.

Howard started his career with the North Jersey Imperials before making a move to the New York Red Bulls/MetroStars. His appearances soon attracted the attention of Manchester United F.C./Manchester United, who signed him in 2003. He enjoyed relative success with them as they won the 2003 FA Community Shield, the 2003–04 FA Cup and the 2005–06 Football League Cup/2005–06 League Cup. However, after United signed Edwin van der Sar, Howard went out on loan to Everton to play more first-team soccer and eventually signed permanently with them in February 2007. On January 4, 2012, Howard scored a goal, his first as a professional, against Bolton Wanderers F.C./Bolton Wanderers. This made him only the fourth goalkeeper to score a goal in a Premier League match.

His leadership comes in the form of - at practice - he's there to work and to learn.

He was terrific at state last year. His time in the finals was about 3 seconds faster than his previous best. I'm really expecting a lot this year; he set me up for that with his performance last year.

He's very interested in doing this right and doing it well. Greg is very focused and works very hard to get his strokes right. He's always asking for coaching and doing things on his own to learn and get faster.
