I've gotten no calls from Lake County Board members saying they want to spend that money for additional judges.

We need to be assured by the federal government that we'll get this impact aid ... We need to have assurance that even with housing, impact aid continues.

We virtually can lose a school district, which will have a financial impact on a lot of neighboring school districts, which will be a burden on the state.

The high prices are also positive in that they'll force less consumption, which means less fossil fuels being used and less pollution, ... Most people don't like being in a lot of traffic. If they have to pay a lot of money to do something they don't like, then they might find another way to go — live closer to work or demand more mass transit.

I am very pleased with the Senate vote. I've said consistently that the legislative intent was not to add additional judges. Unintentional consequences caused this.
