"Dame Tariana Turia" is a New Zealand politician. She gained considerable prominence during the New Zealand foreshore and seabed controversy/foreshore and seabed controversy, and eventually broke with her party as a result. She resigned from parliament, and successfully contested a by-election in her former electorate as a candidate of the newly formed M?ori Party. She retired from Parliament in 2014.

The benefit should be used in a way which assists people to be productive. We need to use the benefit to assist the economy to sustain itself and that isn't happening right now.

The only party you can trust with absolute certainty to protect and look out for Maori interests is the Maori Party. We alone can moderate the extremes of government policies on behalf of Maori.

Unless we feel totally totally opposed to the legislation we should allow legislation to go to select committee to give the public an opportunity to have a say.

The majority of our kids don't get through the door unless we can go and convince the employer to give them a go.

But I would hope however, that the diversity and differences that we have amongst and between us, we should see as a strength and as something we should celebrate rather than fear.

When will this government learn that respectful partnership requires a willingness to engage in constructive dialogue with the treaty partner, not ignoring them at their peril?
