We've probably gotten 40 percent of all of the road money in Eastern Kentucky since the 1970s, which is significant, but it isn't everything. There are a lot of governors and other politicians who wouldn't give Eastern Kentucky the time of day if it weren't for their wanting dad's support.
Hal Rogers is just incredible, ... When you get someone like that on your side, you can't hardly tell him 'no.' He knows where the pockets of money are in Washington, all of 'em, and how to spend it.
