U.S. industry has never been more enthusiastic about investing in India.
We would only encourage all sides to really understand the dimensions of this historic opportunity and that it should not be missed -- and that is the alignment of these two democracies because this underpins this relationship and partnership of trust between the two countries.
The convergence of the two economies is as much about the alignment of our two democracies, as about the dollars and cents associated with India as an emerging economic opportunity.
Their rapidly growing buying power presents a massive market for American goods and services.
But the significance of deepening of the strategic partnership between the two democracies goes far beyond commercial terms.
It is really about trust and mutual respect. It is much more than just atoms and nuclear energy.
The US industry is supportive. The business community wants the administration to take the lead, and we are waiting for word that the separation plan is in hand and credible, and then industry's voice will be heard on Capitol Hill.
