I can honestly say that I think we're ahead of where I thought we'd be at this point. I thought we'd still be searching at quarterback. Joel has had a good spring.

He was the head coach at the University of Maryland, College Park/University of Maryland from 2000 to 2010. Affectionately known as "The Fridge", Friedgen was previously an offensive coordinator at Maryland, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets football/Georgia Tech, and in the National Football League with the San Diego Chargers. Any time you play on national TV, you don't want what happened last year. It's a tremendous chance for us to show our program off. Any time you play against a Top 10 team, it's an opportunity.
