"Ralph Harry Friedgen" is an American football coach. He is currently the offensive coordinator for Rutgers Scarlet Knights football/Rutgers. He was the head coach at the University of Maryland, College Park/University of Maryland from 2000 to 2010. Affectionately known as "The Fridge", Friedgen was previously an offensive coordinator at Maryland, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets football/Georgia Tech, and in the National Football League with the San Diego Chargers. After the 2010 regular season, it was announced that Friedgen would not be returning for the 2011 season, ending his ten year run as head coach.

I can honestly say that I think we're ahead of where I thought we'd be at this point. I thought we'd still be searching at quarterback. Joel has had a good spring.
