"Phillip A. Hamilton" is an American [Republican Party (United States)/Republican Party politician. A member of the Virginia House of Delegates from 1988 until his resignation in 2009, he represented the 93rd district on the Virginia Peninsula, made up of parts of James City County, Virginia/James City County and the city of Newport News, Virginia/Newport News.

Hamilton was convicted and sentenced by a United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia/ U.S. district court jury to 9 1/2 years in prison for federal bribery and extortion charges in August 2011 for soliciting employees of Old Dominion University for a paid position in exchange for a legislative budget amendment that included funding for the position. He was ordered to begin serving his sentence in September 2011.
