I'm obviously pleased to score today, it was bugging me a bit.

I feel comfortable now, although I am new to the Champions League. There is a lot to learn from the manager and from the players here and I am confident I can do that. I am definitely picking things up and I think I will become a better player.

The first one took a big slice of luck, obviously, but I'm really pleased.

I'm really looking forward to the derby and can't wait and we go there with a lot of confidence.

This is a big lift for me because I was devastated on Friday. It is not every day you get a chance to make your England debut and to miss out against America was a big blow.

I am thrilled to be joining a club as prestigious and successful as Liverpool.

I had doubts about whether I would make it or not but I've come through training fine.

Once I heard of their interest in me it was hard not to think about what it would be like to pull on the famous red shirt and play in front of the Kop, but I was also very aware of my responsibilities towards Southampton.

I've got my own targets, ... To establish myself in the team and once you are a regular for Liverpool then England [recognition] comes from that and hopefully this will prove the case.
