Two overall great college baseball games were played today. Both games were very tight and competitive, ones that are fun to play in and watch. Monmouth is a very good baseball team. Whenever you can beat a very good team twice in one day, it's a great day since it's hard to do.

We did exactly what we did yesterday, bunching our hits together to produce runs. Once again, our bats came alive in the clutch situations. Whenever you hit like we have during those times, you are going to win.

Mitch was outstanding on the mound. When he left the game we were only one run down. He pitched especially well for not having thrown in two weeks (because of an ankle injury).

That home run was absolutely huge for us. We haven't been a come-from-behind team in the late innings this year.

We have done a real good job in close games this year. It's always good to be in close games and even better to be 9-2 in one-run contests. I hope we can keep on doing it.

Unfortunately, we didn't make enough plays to win the game. We battled back and showed some resiliency; we took advantage of a couple of their mistakes and got back. But you have to get 27 outs in this game and we weren't able to do it.

Today was just another great performance by Mitch. He was able to locate with all of his pitches. He is just doing everything for us right now.

Overall, we played pretty well today. Whether it was the hitting, defense, pitching or base-running, they all did a good job. We consistently played well for all 16 innings.

Mark was unbelievable today. He provided us with an absolutely huge pitching performance. I can't say enough about what he did for us this afternoon. He came up with the effort that could save our season.
