This is what we're all about. We're focused on getting the village to gather around the kids.

Drumming seems to ease barriers. Whatever the differences are, they seem to melt away.

I didn't just want to sit in an office anymore. I saw myself as a therapist with a broom sweeping up the neighborhood.

My feeling was, they're going to love the drumming, but they're not going to want to talk. But they blew us away because they started talking. A few weeks into it, we had one session where there was no drumming and we talked the whole time.

With some programs, the kids get something while they're there but when they go home it disappears. I wanted follow-through with this.
