I got a concussion just trying to make too much of a play.

Now I want to take a step forward in this next game by making smarter decisions.

I'll do whatever they need me to do. If it means running with the football, then I have no problem running with the football. If it means passing, then I'll pass it.

I thought it would be a lot more frustrating coming in, probably because at the end of last year, I really started to understand the offense more, ... When coach O'Brien came in, and I talked to him for the first time, I knew that it was to be OK. He's the best teacher I have ever been around.

We're not diminishing his role at quarterback at all; we're just trying to enhance his role within the offense because he's one of our best athletes.

There was a little hole there, but why try to force it?

That's what I'm more disappointed in than anything. Forcing the ball in there on the 4-yard line, you can't do that. You've got to get some kind of points out of that. Even if you kick a field goal ? we only lost by three.

I talked to Coach [Ted] Roof before the game and he was like, 'You know Mike, you don't have to be Dan Marino; you've just got to be Mike Schneider, and that's good enough for our team,'.

You've got to go down when you get hit the first time there and not try to go crazy with it.
