Elena did a very good job tonight. She was really hitting her spots. Waller has a good team. It was a huge win to start district play.

It's a win that we needed to escape the losing streak we were on. Willis is always a tough team to play. My kids were focused and their minds set. I couldn't ask any more of Elena. She pitched her best game in district. We finally got the bats going.

The girls played great. They took advantage of their opportunities and made the plays in the field. Now we have to get ready for Willis.

Elena plays against a bunch of those girls and they know what she is throwing or if she's slow. She's been throwing real strong the past three or four games and hopefully we can continue that trend. Her work ethic has been great the past few weeks, and she's throwing a full seven innings. She wants to beat them as much as they want to beat us.

It was a great ball game tonight. Both pitchers did an outstanding job. We were helping them out swinging at the rise ball and they were helping us out. It was a tight game. It came down to the sixth inning where we needed the run. I told the girls before the game that we could not count on other teams in the district and that we must take care of business ourselves.

I've gone over it with them and they are ready to move on. We are taking it one game at a time and we aren't really talking playoffs yet, but they know they have to do their job. If we just go take care of business, everything will be fine.
