It's a tournament with nine Augustinian high schools from all over the country. We are guaranteed four games.

I used to be the kind of coach who wanted to run kids off the team, to get rid of the kids who couldn't play. But now I look at the fat kids as potential NFL linemen. I cringe when a freshman quits football. Just winning state titles won't get it done. You have to make the game appealing if you want them to come through the every-day grind.

We are not giving out free tuition. Providence's tuition will be close to $7,000 next year. We need every penny of it.

I think Joe will be coaching baseball until the end.

Doug always used to hang around with me in those days because he didn't start school until the end of September. He hung out, lined the field, helped coach. He learned how to do it the hard way, but it was also the right way. He definitely knows what he is getting into.
