"Matt Connor" is an Irish people/Irish retired sportsperson. He played Gaelic football with his local club Walsh Island GAA/Walsh Island and was a member of the Offaly GAA/Offaly senior inter-county team from 1978 until 1984 when a car accident resulted in his need to use a wheelchair. Despite his football career being tragically cut short at such a young age, he is widely regarded as one of the greatest footballers ever to play the game. His display for Offaly in the 1980 All-Ireland Semi-Final against Kerry, scoring 2-9, is considered one of the best personal performances in the history of Gaelic Football.
