He was elected as Member of Parliament for the North East Milton Keynes (UK Parliament constituency)/North East Milton Keynes constituency at the United Kingdom general election, 2005/2005 general election and held its successor seat, Milton Keynes North (UK Parliament constituency)/Milton Keynes North, at the United Kingdom general election, 2010/2010 general election. Initially appointed as the Parliamentary Private Secretary/PPS to the Secretary of State for International Development. He is currently a Lord Commissioner of Her Majesty's Treasury following his promotion to Government Minister in September 2012.
