We wanted to do something special to thank everyone for all the support they've given to the track out here since 1964.

I'm sad to see it end. It's like losing an old friend. I certainly think the track has served its purpose and served the community well all these years, and this was a great way to end - with a great crowd and great racing.

These races are going to be real critical because we've got some very tight races.

I know Vince would love to win a championship and Joel has never won one. It's real close between the three of them and I think these last races are going to be real exciting.

Thunder Bowl Speedway, Reno-Fernley Raceway, and Rattlesnake Raceway in Fallon will all be purchasing equipment, and they need time to dismantle it and remove it from the facility before the bulldozers move in.

There's a lot of moving to be done after we close down. The lights, grandstands, scoreboard, sound system, fencing and billboards are all coming down and it takes a huge effort to do that. It'll take 10 working days to remove everything and if we have the Sept. 24 show, there would be no opportunity for the stuff to get out of here.

We want racers, former racers, officials, former officials, crews, press, and especially fans to come out for the farewell party.
