We discovered that members were being deprived of an important opportunity to ask questions and speak freely among themselves. Families have curtains for a reason, and that is to provide them with a certain level of privacy as they develop relationships. The same can be true of a caucus.

We don't know who the family is. We have no interest in knowing. It's beside the point. It's a terrible tragedy. It's done now. We hope that if one decent thing comes out of this it's that someone else pays attention the next time around.

If we hadn't fought for them, our schools would have received an amount so low it would have again required cutting calendar days and other devastating cuts.

I'm as frustrated as citizens are that the Legislature didn't get more done, ... Senate Democrats passed a number of good bills on issues that Oregonians support, but the House Republicans chose to kill them.

That?s a pretty close vote as it is, ... I?d like to have a little more in my pocketbook in case something goes wrong.

I don?t know where the votes are.
