Arts and Crafts was never there to prevent industrial growth. It was there to tailor it.

It's not intended to be a comprehensive study of the Arts and Crafts Movement. It's a look at how people in other countries took the Arts and Crafts ideas that were developed in the (United Kingdom) and made them their own.

One of the overriding criteria for including an object in the show was the quality of its craftsmanship, ... As long as the quality of design and the quality of production were high, it was an Arts and Crafts object.

The Arts and Crafts Movement was about design for living. It was design for ordinary people. That was a passion that was represented no matter what country Arts and Crafts evolved in.
