I'd come home with bruised ribs every night. I mean, Freddie was tough, but he taught me the difference between high school and college basketball in the first two weeks. Even as a player, Freddie would be teaching the guards where to be on the floor and certain techniques he used to take advantage of his skills. It didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out he was destined for this.

Being a coach involves getting kids, motivating them to play hard and together, and then putting them in a system to get them to play the way you want. He's going to get kids. He's going to make kids believe in what they're doing. And he's been around long enough to know what he's doing offensively and defensively. There's a first time for everybody and Fred is more than ready for this.
