I was seven shots back at the beginning of the day. When you are far back like that, you are just trying to come out and shoot maybe a few under par. You just have to position yourself well, and hope the wind blows and guys don't hit good shots and you have a chance to be close to the leaders on the final day.

I played great on the back (nine), hit the ball great, made some putts and here we go.

Given three days' notice as to the general location of landfall and the projected level of impact, I thought we would have been better prepared for this situation. We certainly would not have had the luxury of knowledge of timing and location were it a terrorist attack on the levees rather than the impact from Katrina.

I actually joked with my caddie at the turn and told him that he was going to see the best 29 on the back nine and I ended up shooting 28.

In my capacity at CRS, I get paid to provide objective advice to Congress, which at times may not align with the interests of DHS.

I just putted better today than I did all week.

I just wasn't hitting it well on the front. I thought it was going to be a rough day with the putter, but things started to turn around, and I went on a little run.
