You want a two-stroke lead going into 18. If you get it into the wind, you'd better snap on the chin strap. It's going to be pretty darn tough.

It's a good way to make a small fortune smaller.

If you three-putt to lose a tournament, it sticks with you. If you hit it in water to lose a tournament, it's no big deal. You can always say it was a bad shot or a bad (course) design or whatever. If you three-putt, you feel like a total jackass, because nobody should three-putt. Then it's just kind of nerves taking over.
