"Joe Marsh" is a retired United States/American ice hockey coach. He was the head coach of the St. Lawrence Saints men's ice hockey team from 1985 thru the end of the 2011–12 NCAA Division I men's ice hockey season/2011-12 season. The University of New Hampshire/New Hampshire graduate lead the Saints to an NCAA tournament berth in only his second year and a runner-up finish the following season, St. Lawrence's first Frozen Four appearance in 26 years. Over the next 26 season Marsh became the most successful Head Coach in school history in terms of tenure, wins (482), conference regular season titles (2), conference tournament titles (5), conference championship appearances (8) and NCAA tournament appearances (8). Only George Menard has more Frozen Four appearances (5) with St. Lawrence than Marsh's 2 in 1988 NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Tournament/1988 and 2000 NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Tournament/2000.

Win-loss records, we were right around .500 (early) but we got a lot more out of that. It was a great experience for the kids and I think it gave us a little confidence.

We have no illusions of grandeur here. It's the situation we want to be in. We want to have to go out there and have to earn every single shift. We'll have to do that in this building (the Kohl Center) for sure.

We jumped out to an early lead and held it the rest of the way.
