I was a first lieutenant in the army in the early part of my pro career, ... I would work during the week and then fly and meet the team and play that weekend. Then, I would hop back on a plane and be back for roll call at 6 a.m. Monday.

It is a great honor, of course, ... I am very happy this has happened. It will be a wonderful experience to join the 19 other Ohio State players in there as well.

And with Gene, I think most of the people on the Seniors Committee don't remember him because he played so long ago.

Dave Wilcox (former San Francisco 49ers linebacker) is in the HOF, and to take nothing away from Dave because he was a great player, but I think I was as good as he was and I'm not in.

Gene was a great player. Is he worthy of being in the Hall of Fame? Does he have all the qualifications to be in? No question about it. I have no idea what's keeping him out, but it's time to put him in.

My goodness, I played at Ohio State from 1957-59.

Woody and Paul are the premier guys.

People always ask me how Woody Hayes was on our sideline.

I have been the luckiest guy in the world, because I had the same deal in high school, college and the pros, ... We won championships every time. With all the success my teams had, I can't complain about anything.
