Certainly this is an opportunity for the new space companies. They've been lobbying NASA hard for something like this for years.

I can tell you that anyone who has attended our public meetings or hearings is going to find no surprises in the final report. We're going to talk about education. We're going to talk about how to market the state's space resources. We're going to talk about economic development. But you'll have to wait until Wednesday.

It's clearly understood that there is going to be a reduction in the workforce as we move away from the space shuttle era and into the Crew Exploration Vehicle era. What happens in serial processing is that the workforce reduction would happen a lot sooner.

You would only really need one team of people working one shift to do that work. You would not necessarily need to have full-up teams at each hangar or every facility that supports operating a whole fleet.
