"Ira Sachs" is an American Filmmaking/filmmaker. His first film was the acclaimed short Lady (1993).

Born in Memphis, Tennessee, his films have included the Sundance Film Festival selection The Delta (film)/The Delta (1997), the Sundance Film Festival Grand Prize winning Forty Shades of Blue (2005), and Married Life (2007 film)/Married Life (2007), starring Chris Cooper and Pierce Brosnan. His film, Keep the Lights On, debuted at 2012 Sundance Film Festival/Sundance in 2012. His newest film, Love Is Strange (film)/Love Is Strange, premiered at 2014 Sundance Film Festival/Sundance in 2014.

Sachs is Jewish and Coming out/openly gay. He lives and works in New York City.
