It was certainly a tough race to face after the Christmas break -- you really needed to be totally focused.

The best thing is winning. Be fast, be healthy at the end of January. It depends on the whole team, how strong it is. There are many winners on the team.

Knowing that I've already got one gold medal at home helps a bit with the entire situation. Skiing isn't everything in the world and a gold medal isn't everything in the world. And I'm not badly off. In fact, I'm quite happy.

I've been saying for years that this downhill is too dangerous. For the last couple of years it was OK but now it's back to being too dangerous. I'm happy I made it down healthy.

Austria is a ski nation, and everybody wants to talk or to be with an Olympic champion. It's a great thing.

This means that the Olympic law holds true: the law that the guy who wins the Olympics is always someone unexpected.
