What we started out as isn't what it's going to become. There's a lot of room for growth. We expected to evolve. There's a lot of room for us to shift, whether it's altering the sound or adding vocals. I can see Particle becoming something much different than it is now.

He was interested in a project with an electronic pulse.

We don't have any boundaries for it. If we're feeling it, it's OK.

OK, all right, that's it. It's done.

What we love to do in our show is we love to make people dance. That's a big thing for us. So within that, that's a reason why people really enjoy hearing us for an extended amount of time because we constantly have them moving and dancing and engaged.

[Metzger] comes from a rock 'n' roll background. He wanted to expand himself, and Particle is a great place to do it. He brings in his songs and integrates his style, and he expands on it with his guitar.

[Combe] comes from more of a jam-band scene. His guitar playing takes you on a journey fans of Particle will appreciate. You feel like you've been somewhere when you're done [listening].

We really love playing this music and showing it to people. We're not afraid to show people our stuff. That's what it's about. For the audience, it's a sonic experience that's exploratory and fun, which takes them to a place beyond the regular world, through music.
