I'm just a traditionalist. I just want things to be relatively consistent over time.

We haven't run across a team yet that has the foot speed that we have.

We're kinda old fashioned. Plus we're afraid of change. We have a hard time saying 'OK, the writing's on the wall, it's time for us to read it.' We like doing what we've always done and what we did best.

Our thing was always music. Back in the heyday people would come in constantly and say 'You know, you ought to get into comic books. We could put a rack of comic books over here.' Well, I don't know (anything) about comics so we're not going to do it. I used that space to sell some more Joy Division or something like that.

It's a tough style to play against. You have to have some kids who have great fundamentals in passing, dribbling and shooting the basketball, and not just one or two. ... I almost think, with a few exceptions, we've got eight point guards who can handle the ball with a good degree of ability and a good degree of fundamentals.

I didn't like (the helmets), ... My primary reason being the school colors are green and gold.

It was important for us to come back and tie the game sooner rather than later. It relaxed us at halftime.

You have to find different ways to win games and that's what we were able to do. We didn't have some of the prettiest goals in the world, but they were goals. We wanted to find out if we have the caliber of team that can take it up a notch when we have to and we did.

For me it was a great race, ... The first few laps were pretty tight. I had my areas where I was quick and David [Finch] had his. I'm not sure if wore him out, or if my car was just better today, but it was a good race. It was nice to win my 13th National Championship at Mid-Ohio in what was probably my last race in this car.
