We came out on fire, which is something I was worried about because of the 13-day layoff. We played great in the first quarter, right with them the whole time.
Our kids played hard and pretty well for 36 minutes. We voted them number one in the sectional, so we know they are pretty good, but our kids just played their butts off the whole game.
They just made one more play than us. Maynard made a great move to get to the bucket and then made the foul shot. From my angle, it looked like our shot was going to drop, but they just made the extra play.
Yes, we made some mistakes playing hard, but that will happen sometimes with a team like us. We're still learning, but the effort was there tonight, and I can't argue about that.
They're real young, but our kids came out and executed and took care of business tonight.
Our guards were maybe trying to force things (in the first half) some, but they really made some big plays for us in the second half.
