"Dietmar Johann Wolfgang Hamann", also known as "Didi Hamann", is a German former professional Association football/footballer who was most recently manager (association football)/manager at Stockport County F.C./Stockport County. Throughout his career, he has played for FC Bayern Munich/Bayern Munich, Newcastle United F.C./Newcastle United, Liverpool F.C./Liverpool, and Manchester City F.C./Manchester City primarily in a defensive midfield position. He also spent time at Milton Keynes Dons F.C./Milton Keynes Dons as a player/coach before joining Leicester City as a first team coach. He was a member of the Germany national football team/German national side from 1997 until 2006. He is known in Ireland as a soccer pundit on RTÉ's live coverage of major European and International competitions.

Throughout his playing career Hamann gained a reputation for being a highly consistent and reliable player. He is highly respected by supporters of Liverpool due in large part to his involvement in the 2005 UEFA Champions League Final/2005 Champions League Final.

This is not the same at all. This is a different team. The atmosphere is a lot better and the team is a tighter unit with all the players standing closely together.

They are ahead of us in the league for a reason, don't doubt that. But I feel we are serious challengers now. It is either us or Manchester United. There is only a few points between us.

We have to concentrate on what we have to do. I am confident.

The Premiership is the only club competition I haven't won since I joined Liverpool. I'm desperate for us to do it.
