We got my 10-year-old grandson and headed outside barefoot in the 15-degree temperature. We got in the car and called the Fire Department back from my cell phone.

I guess it's a really bad deal to have a fire when it's so slick and icy outside.

We plugged in a night-light. It didn't work, and I went into the laundry room and threw the breaker. Less than a minute later, my daughter said there was a fire in the same room.

The fire... destroyed two bedrooms and the heat and water. We're just thankful we were able to get out without any loss of life. We did lose one of our cats to the fire and haven't been able to find the other one.

Anyone can find Vanessa around Andalusia planting trees, shrubs and flowers. She is always picking up limbs or mowing grass. No matter what the job is, Vanessa is always smiling and waving to everyone as they pass by her.

I did not have anything to do with the nomination or the final award selections so I am rather pleased to see that two people from Andalusia received such prestigious awards.

It is a pleasure to work with Harvey. I think it is an honor to be represented by such professional employees.

A number of the Andalusia Leisure staff was awarded at the banquet, they represented the City of Andalusia very well. That shows that the City of Andalusia has a lot of professional and well skilled workers.

I also give thanks to Mavis Taylor she has been the ARPA secretary and treasure for the past two years. She is a very dedicated worker. She helps me out a lot and makes my job a little easier.
