He was in the bullpen for them earlier in the year, and I think that was only his seventh start. Left-handed, running it up there at 92 with a good breaking ball, he was definitely carving us up. He threw very, very well.

This franchise expects to win. They figured it out through trial-and-error, which is what it's about. You go through the list, and every player on this team improved at something.

Joe Scott, that's another quality start for him, and he got in the win column.

What a comeback. There's a lot of fight in this team. We're still in a playoff race, and they know that. They're not going to give it away. They're not going to give an inch.

For many of these guys, it was their first full year of professional baseball. Now they have an understanding of what it takes to get through this.

Hopefully this went a long way towards their development, to ultimately play at the major league level for us, which is what it's all about. Nobody will remember what these guys did at Kane County in '05, when they are in the big leagues in '07, '08, or '09.

Nobody quit and nobody gave up. They all played right to the end. They are all much better players for having to go through that.
