"Dale A. Russell" is a Canadian geologist/palaeontologist, currently Research Professor at The Department of Marine Earth and Atmospheric Sciences (MEAS) of North Carolina State University. Dinosaurs he has described include Daspletosaurus and he was amongst first paleontologists to consider an extraterrestrial cause (supernova, comet, asteroid) for the extinction of the dinosaurs

He is also credited with inventing the controversial dinosauroid thought experiment. Russell's dinosauroid was criticized as being too anthropomorphic.

Most people feel that birds evolved from one kind of dinosaur. But our bad luck was to find the other kind of dinosaur, and unfortunately it has a bird-like heart too. So this means that bird-like hearts may be typical of highly evolved, late-in-the-era, dinosaurs -- they were evolving, they were changing.

Our goal is for them to be safe and not get hurt or kill themselves.

This came as a shock because we didn't believe we'd find a heart. No one in his right mind could find a dinosaur heart from 66 million years ago.

It probably liked to live in brushy terrain, around deadfalls, and could probably go through that terrain just like a torpedo.
