It would have been nice to have finished higher, but we also had to be realistic once we saw the conditions on the opening morning.

Although I haven't competed in a World Rally Car since 2003, the team have put together an extensive testing programme which will give me the opportunity to evaluate the Fabia and have it set up to my liking. It will also allow myself and Nicky to get ourselves up to speed before the event itself.

I'm certainly not going to make any stupid predictions about winning, but I see no reason why we can't finish in the top eight and score championship points.

It's a real pity we had that puncture. The fight with Dani was fantastic. But I'm not sure that we could have conquered the first place. To finish second here is for me a great result on my first outing in Germany !

We had some great fun, especially during 2002, and Michael's death is a huge shock for everyone who knew him. My co-driver, Nick Grist, has also lost a very close friend.

Rally GB is obviously very special to me, and I am looking forward to giving the fans something to cheer.

He was a great guy and full of laughs and great spirit.
